1-What is your ‘go to’ bible verse to get you through the day?

Psalm 118:24 KJV

“This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

2- Share a favorite recipe that the family enjoys during the fall season. I love to make my mom’s Gumbo Jumbo, which we love to enjoy when it’s cold outside!

Julie’s Gumbo Jumbo

1 pkg Smoked Sausage

1 pkg McKenzie Vegetable gumbo mix

2 cans Chicken Broth

2 cups Water

½ cup White Rice

1 chopped Onion

1 can Rotel

3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1-3 dashes hot sauce

1 pkg small frozen Shrimp

Cut up smoked sausage and place in large Dutch oven with all ingredients except for shrimp. Bring to a boil and simmer for 45 minutes. Add frozen shrimp and cook for 10 additional minutes. This is yummy served with garlic bread!

3 – What fall activities does the family and or you like to do in the area?

Our family loves the tradition of going to the First United Methodist Pumpkin patch each year and pick pumpkins for the front door and pumpkins to carve!

4-All Saints Day, is often a day where we celebrate holy baptism. Whether you’ve attended, are a God parent, or recall your own baptism, share with us how baptism, a journey of learning about God’s love and growing in faith, has played a role in your life. I love to go to the services when baptism takes place! Since I was baptized as a baby, I don’t remember, but I just love to renew the Episcopalian Baptismal Covenant each time there is a baptism in church. I feel that it helps to confirm my commitment to God and to remember that we rely on the Holy Spirit to work in our lives. It is so very special that our kids, Walker and Shealy, were baptized at Grace and so were my God children, Vivian, Whitney and Ryn!
