1-What is your ‘go to’ bible verse to get you through the day?

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

2-Briefly tell us about a recent fun activity you and or your family participated in.

After about eight years of working at Symphony Under the Stars as a FAFO board member, I finally was able to gather a group of friends to attend this annual event and just purely enjoy it. It was a fitting day of relaxation and seeing people I haven’t seen for months after a long, stressful year.

3-Do you have a favorite recipe or take-out meal recommendation you would like to share?

I started making Ina Garten’s Lobster Macaroni and Cheese over the lockdown months, when cooking was a major outlet (and necessity). I’ve made several variations and eaten it far too many times in the past year, but it is a nice, occasional treat.

4- At the start of the 2021 school year, Grace Church will be offering a new Children’s Ministry program, led by Grace’s very own member, Erin van Santen (Father Frans’s wife). While Erin is busy preparing, please share how a mentor, youth leader, or Sunday school teacher had an impact on you and why?

I would actually point to my maternal grandparents as the most impactful on my spiritual life in my early years. My grandmother was no longer working with the children at our church, as she had faithfully done for decades before, but she and my grandfather would always read from the Bible at the breakfast table and then specifically pray for each family member, near and far. Even as children we were invited into this ritual, and were also part of the adult Bible studies they held. There was never a question about the importance of Bible study in our lives.
