On Sunday, April 30, members of Grace Church had the opportunity to join the Episcogators at the University of Florida in worship at Chapel of the Incarnation, then have dinner with them for their last meeting of this academic year. It was such a wonderful experience to spend time with these young adults and hear from three graduating seniors who shared just how important the Episcogators had been to their college experience. Sense of community is a basic need for young adults and that sense of community was very apparent. Episcogators is a place where young Christians can grow and flourish. But it also provides an opportunity for non-Christians to encounter and engage with other young people. At this meeting there were some guests who were not Christians but were very curious about and interested in the Episcopal worship service. Their questions were welcomed.
Anyone who enjoys the company of young adults, or anyone who has ever wondered about the future of the Church and the world is invited to join this ministry of hospitality to the Episcogators. Grace provides and shares a meal with the students a few times a year. Consider joining others at Grace in providing and joining in a Sunday evening meal. Look for more information when the new academic years starts in the fall.
