Mary Baggs interviewing Greg Harrell

1- What’s your ‘go to’ bible verse to get you through the day?

Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord you God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

2- Briefly tell us about a recent fun activity you and or your family participated in and why.

We recently started playing golf together as a family and have had a lot of fun doing it. Walker has really gotten into it over the past year, and the rest of us just wanted to join in on the fun.

3- Do you have a recipe or take-out meal recommendation you would like to share?

Grandmom Linda’s Hot Ham & Cheese Sandwiches:

Mix 2 sticks of margarine, 2T grated onion, 2T mustard, 1T poppy seeds, and buns of choice.

Spread both sides of buns with mixture. Add a slice of ham and a slice of cheese to each sandwich. Wrap in foil and back at 350 for 10-12 minutes.

4- With Advent around the corner, tell us about a family advent tradition or how you prepare for our saviors’ birth in your home.

Each year, before Christmas Eve services, we re-read the Nativity story as a family and then watch the movie that came out about 15 years ago. We love the part in the movie where the shepherd tells Mary that everyone has a gift and, then, after giving birth to Jesus, she returns the favor and tells the shepherd the same thing. We also have an adorable set of advent cards that sit on our kitchen table. It is so easy to pick up the card at dinnertime and read the verse and daily principle. I've learned over the years that anything too lengthy or inaccessible doesn’t work for us.
