Rev. Daniel Pinell was born and raised in Managua, Nicaragua. Before migrating to the United

States at the age of 17, he became passionate about his Christian faith and made a deeper

commitment to following Christ. Daniel became involved with a missionary order called

InnerCHANGE, where he ministered to gang members and youth at risk in San Francisco and

Oakland, California. Intending to become a Catholic priest, Daniel entered as a candidate for the

pre-novitiate with the Augustinian religious order and studied philosophy for almost 2 years. He

left after discerning a call to the married life.

He married a few years after leaving the Augustinian community, meeting his wife while doing

ministry with InnerCHANGE. Daniel worked as a community organizer for workers and

immigrant’s rights in Oakland, CA, helping organize clergy and churches to better meet the

needs of immigrants and refugees. After years of discernment, Daniel and his wife Nettie joined

the Episcopal Church on Easter of 2018.

Daniel was ordained to the Diaconate on January 27th, 2020 in the Diocese of Central Florida

and was ordained to the Priesthood on August 22, 2020. He and his wife have two young children and are learning the chaotic, joyful and rewarding life of new parents. He graduated with a Masters of Divinity from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in the Spring of 2019. He is passionate about spreading the good news of Jesus Christ and discipleship, and outreach to the poor. Daniel enjoys reading books on theology and the life of the Saints, among other biographies, traveling and enjoying a variety of cuisines, writing, cooking, and a good cup of coffee.

Frans was born and raised in the Netherlands, the country of windmills, tulips, and Van Gogh. On his first visit to the USA in 2011, he met a girl from Florida at a wedding and married her thirteen months later. Frans and Erin started their life together in Amsterdam, where their children Estella and Moses were born.

Starting his career as a business consultant, in 2012 Frans felt that God was calling him to the ministry. He became the director of a Dutch ministry for young professionals, discipled young Christian leaders all over Europe, and created a Dutch course about faith and work. During these years, Frans studied at Tyndale Theological Seminary, graduating with an M.Div. in 2020.

Frans and Erin were members of the Anglican Church in Amsterdam and started a discernment process for the priesthood with the Church of England. In the midst of this process and before the world had any inkling of a pandemic, they decided to move their family to Florida and transfer to the Episcopal Church.

Frans is passionate about the beautiful message of the gospel and desires for everyone to know and experience God’s love. He enjoys preaching, good beer, classical music, theological discussions, time with his family, and Ajax soccer matches.

What is a Verger, you might ask? The Verger is the one who works behind the scenes to ensure that the Service has Ushers and Acolytes and Readers and Chalice Ministers; that the myriad of details required for a Church Service are covered, so the Priest can concentrate on worship. Dave is that kind of a detail guy. A retired Letter Carrier, he has a deep interest in studying Scripture and the details of our Liturgy. A bit of a perfectionist, Dave will be there on Sunday morning ensuring that your worship experience is as smooth and holy as possible. Some Sundays, you'll see him at the Altar in his black and grey vestments; but most of the time, he'll be in the pews, worshipping with his wife Janie.
