Mary Baggs interviewing Sadie Fitzpatrick
1-What is your ‘go to’ bible verse to get you through the day?
I love Exodus 14:14: “The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still.”I can get worried about the tasks I have to do that day and fret about outcomes of situations. This verse reminds me that I need to let go and let God.
2-Briefly tell us about a recent fun activity you and or your family participated in.
We woke up recently one Saturday and decided to put on our bathing suits, hop in the car and drive to Ormond Beach for the day to enjoy the sun and surf. Our children, ages 2.5 and 1, loved the waves and spent hours digging in the sand. It was fun to do something so spur-of-the-moment and watch their delight in building sandcastles and running to the edge of the water.
3-Do you have a favorite recipe or take-out meal recommendation you would like to share?
This past year has definitely seen our family ordering a lot more takeout! We love ordering the burgers at La Cuisine for curbside pickup (that garlic aioli they use is to die for!)
4- At the start of the 2021 school year, Grace Church will be offering a new Children’s Ministry program, led by Grace’s very own member, Erin van Santen (Father Frans’s wife). While Erin is busy preparing, please share how a mentor, youth leader, or Sunday school teacher had an impact on you and why?
In eighth grade, I was completing Confirmation classes at First Presbyterian Church. The assistant minister at the time, Pastor David McChesney, was our pastoral leader and he was just the best! His calm, patient manner was perfect for a group of rowdy thirteen-year-old kids. He was always so encouraging and would listen to all my concerns, no matter how trivial they might have seemed. When I think of him, I think of love and light.
