Grace Altar Flowers

By Carolyn Ayres

Have you ever noticed the beautiful fresh flowers that adorn our altar each Sunday morning?

Flowers represent God’s creation and love. We give flowers to honor and celebrate those we love. Flowers are a part of special occasions everywhere, and they are an integral part of Christian rituals and ceremonies like weddings and funerals. Church members express joy, thanksgiving and remembrance by enhancing our worship service each week with flowers “given to the glory of God”.

If you enjoy and appreciate the beauty flowers add to our services, please consider becoming a donor or “flower angel”. There are currently 23 “open” Sundays in 2021. It’s a great way to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries or special occasions in your family, remember loved ones, or give thanks for blessings.

The cost for two beautiful arrangements is $50 and it is tax deductible. Flower donor forms can be obtained at the back of the church or by contacting the church office. The altar remains bare during Lent (February 21 - March 21) and only greens are used during Advent (November 28 – December 19). You may sponsor Advent greens for $25.

The flowers are arranged each week by our Grace Flower Guild: Carolyn Ayres, Lynda Peek and Lynn Nobles. If you would like to learn more about this ministry or are interested in becoming a part of this group please contact one of these ladies. We would love to work with you!
