Through donations from Grace members and strategic partnership, Grace Church has again eliminated medical debt. This time we were able to forgive $650,000. Because of Grace's generosity, this Christmas several individuals and families will receive letters saying their debt has been forgiven and they can start the new year unburdened.
Who received this forgiveness? We don't know specifically but we do know that they earned less than two times the federal poverty level. And the debts are 5 percent or more of their annual income.
How does it work? With every donation made, our partners use precise data analytics to pinpoint the medical debt of those most in need of relief. They buy the medical debt at a steep discount and together we wipe out medical debt!
