1-What is your ‘go to’ bible verse to get you through the day? Why is it special to you?
Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
It’s special to me because it just reminds me that through God and with God I have no limitations only the ones I impose on myself. I also always told our three boys growing up, that so long as they have the grace of God guiding them that there was no stopping how far they could or would go. I credit that to Philippians 41:3.
2- Do you have a favorite home cooked dinner recipe you’d like to share and /or do you recommend a meal you’ve enjoyed from a local restaurant?
Being new to central Florida and arriving at the start of the pandemic we haven’t really done much eating at restaurants, but we did find a nice Italian place on t301 that we frequent now and again. Pasta Faire Ristorante. My husband Vic loves their lasagna and I love their seafood alfredo. The atmosphere is friendly, and the service has been great thus far.
3- What is it that Grace Church has, (like a secret sauce) that engaged you, and keeps you engaged, week after week?
The friendly, no pressure atmosphere to come worship. We did try other churches in the area, but we kept going back to Grace. I also searched for help during some dark moments in 2021. Our friends and family suffered loss due to Covid. I reached out to Grace Episcopal and a local Catholic church for prayer. Grace Episcopal answered my request and then went beyond and continued their show of support and every lasting faith in God. The first to reach out was Father Daniel, he called Vic and I and prayed with us for our friends and family. Then about a week later I received a call from Deacon Susan. I cannot sing her praises enough, not only was she comforting by praying over our family that needed it, but she was a friendly voice that also listened to my aching heart. She wasn’t in a rush to get off the phone with me. She prayed with me and cried with me; words cannot express what that did for me. Susan followed up multiple times over the phone and when I was able to put a face to the voice, she is as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. I will be forever grateful to Deacon Susan and to Grace Episcopal for being there in such heartbreaking moments.
4- What was your most memorable experience in 2021?
I cannot really pick a certain moment; all I can say is that my family is extremely blessed. Not a day goes by that Vic and I don’t realize God’s presence in our life. We have 3 amazing sons, 2 beautiful daughters in law and 4 of the cutest grandkids you have ever seen. Blessed beyond what we deserve but cherish and are grateful for it!
